In general, if the number of standard copies in your request is less than 50 pages, the charge will be $0.10 per page or part of a page. If the number of standard copies in your request is more than 50 pages, the charge will be $0.10 per page or part of a page plus personnel costs necessary to locate, compile and copy the documents. Each side that has recorded information is considered a page. Additional charges may be assessed for nonstandard copy and will also include related postal and shipping expenses.
If the charge for fulfilling your request exceeds $40.00, UTIMCO will provide you with a written itemized statement of estimated charges and indicate if a less costly alternative is available. You must respond in writing within 10 business days after the estimate is sent that you either accept the charges, are modifying your request in response to the estimate, have sent, or are sending, a complaint regarding the charges to the Attorney General, or that you desire the less costly alternative. If no written response is receive within the specified time, your request will be considered withdrawn.
If the estimated charge is more than $100.00, UTIMCO will generally require prepayment or the posting of a bond before providing the information. If the required prepayment or bond is not received within 10 days after the estimate is sent, your request will be considered withdrawn. If you have an unpaid balance of more than $100.00 from a previous request for which you accepted the itemized statement of estimated charges, you will be required to pay the previous balance as well as the prepayment or bond.
